    James Naismith World War I Ephemera. Intriguing selection from Dr. Naismith's service in France includes: 1) Typed one-page letter to his wife on "YMCA American Expeditionary Force" letterhead is dated March 28, 1918. "...The war is a horrible thing..." he writes, in part. Letter is unsigned. VG-EX. 2) Typed one-page poem on the war. It is believed, but not established, to have been written by Naismith himself. VG. 3) Material related to his departure from France. Includes baggage tag, "Ordre de Transport" document, and listing of materials Naismith is carrying, written in his hand. These average VG. 4) YMCA Magazine, July 1917. An articled penned by Dr. Naismith is featured inside. EX.
