Circa 1987-88 Reggie Lewis Game Worn Boston Celtics Shooting Jacket. Gems are rarely unearthed late in the first round of the NBA Draft as talent is usually absorbed by the end of the lottery. Well, the Celtics hit on Reggie Lewis as the franchise selected him with the 22nd pick of the 1987 draft. Worn by Lewis during the early stages of his career is this "Sand Knit [size] 44" home shooting jacket. We compared the Sand Knit labels inside this one to various other years and link the offered garment to Lewis' rookie campaign. The labeling period is 1987-90. Other examples we have found from 1988 had a year swatch as they also did in subsequent years. Dual Sand Knit labels are sewn in tandem in the collar. "Celtics" is screened on front and shamrocks balance off the sleeves. "Lewis" is is placed on a satin nameplate in single-color white tackle twill.
