Description
Circa 1940s Ralph Beard University of Kentucky Blanket Presented here is a blanket belonging to three time NCAA First Team All-American and 1948 Olympics Gold Medal winner Ralph Beard. After his illustrious career at the University of Kentucky, Beard would become a second round draft pick of the Indianapolis Olympians in the 1949 NBA draft. The large 75x59" wool blanket is dark blue with a white "K" in the center with white trim around the sides. A Ralph Beard nameplate with script stitching adorns one of the corners. There is some fraying and brown staining to the white trim with some small holes scattered across the blanket, none of which detract from the impressive nature of this piece of Kentucky basketball history.
