Back to back!

2010 Los Angeles Lakers NBA Championship Ring Presented to Forward Lamar Odom. His doomed romance with one of the Kardashian sisters, and the tabloid maelstrom that surrounded his personal struggles, made Lamar Odom a household name nationwide, but this fourth overall selection in the 1999 NBA Draft had been on the radars of serious basketball fans since he was named Parade Magazine Player of the Year as a senior at St. Thomas Aquinas high school. Undoubtedly the peak of his professional career came during the Los Angeles Lakers' back-to-back NBA Championship seasons of 2009 and 2010, and Heritage Auctions is pleased to present both of Odom's personal rings commemorating these achievements in this Platinum Night auction. Both were pawned and never retrieved by the six-foot ten-inch forward at the depths of his downward spiral.

Presented here is the glorious symbol of the Lakers' second consecutive journey to the mountain top, and the sixteenth in the franchise's illustrious history. Not an expense was spared by creator "Jason of Beverly Hills," nor a corner cut when crafting the award, a staggeringly opulent ring with enough flash to make a major label rapper blush. Crafted from sixteen karat gold, the ring boasts sixteen large cut diamonds to represent the franchise Championships, with dozens of smaller stones to complete the design of the face, which features a golden "Lakers" logo and matching Larry O'Brien Trophies marked "2009" and "2010."

Left shank features a tiny relief image of Odom's head framed between his surname and the slogan "Sweet Sixteen," a reference to the franchise championship tally. Right shank recalls the playoff path to the Finals along with the score of the decisive Game Seven victory over their storied Boston Celtic rivals and the Lakers' regular season record. Perhaps most unique and exciting is a clear window at interior of the band that displays a small circular swatch of the Game Seven ball used in the clincher. Band is stamped "JBH-M010." As with Odom's 2009 ring also presented within this auction, the low serial number is indicative of player issue.

Ring weighs sixty-nine grams (69 g.) and measures to a size eleven and a half (11.5). Light wear is evident. It remains housed in its original display case which features a rotating pedestal and spotlight (battery dead). Case is in fine condition otherwise.
