Description

2008 Kevin Garnett NBA Finals Worn Adidas Team Signature KG Commander Sneakers with NBA COA.
UPDATE: Lot accompanied by an HA LOA

The first player specific and game specific sneaker ever produced, these rare kicks were purpose built for KG to wear during Game 1 of the 2008 NBA Finals when the Boston Celtics began the final leg of a journey which culminated in the franchise's record seventeenth NBA title.

Adidas Team Signature KG Commanders display a white/black/green colorway with the coveted Larry O'Brien NBA Championship Trophy on the medial side, and Garnett's profile image on the lateral side, along with an embroidered callout to games 1 thru 7. The number "1" appears in green embroidery, while the others remain white. Other endearing design attributes include heartfelt tributes to Malik Sealy ("2 Malik" on the interior of the Velcro fasteners) and Kirby Puckett ("KP 34" on the back on the shoes).

Exteriors exhibit signs of game wear, while the interior tagging confirms size ("15") and "Sample" status. Accompanied by a Certificate of Authenticity from the NBA verifying that the sneakers were worn in Game One of the 2008 NBA Finals when Boston's big man tallied twenty-four points, thirteen rebounds, three assists and one steal in a 98-88 Celtics' win. COA from the NBA. LOA from Heritage Auctions.
