2007-08 Kevin Durant Game Worn Seattle Supersonics Rookie Shoes.When Kevin Durant entered the NBA as a member of the Seattle Supersonics in 2007, the lanky sharp shooter from the University of Texas was anything but a surprise. During his only year as a collegiate athlete, Durant averaged 25.8 points and 11.1 rebounds per game, and was given the John R. Wooden Award, as he was named the year's most outstanding men's college basketball player. In 2008, Durant was named NBA Rookie of the Year, and the following season his team moved to Oklahoma City where he captured the heart of an entire community. Following a successful run with the Thunder, Durant took his talents to Oakland and finally grabbed that elusive championship ring. Another could be on its way if the Warriors continue their current pace.
Anything related to Durant's rookie season takes on added value given the team's stay in Seattle was abbreviated with the upstart. Jerseys have surfaced from time to time but these green and yellow "Nike size 18" shoes are only the second pair we could find. We did locate a Getty Images photo (1172980) in which he is wearing this style. The Nike size tag reveals the kicks were created "9/7/07" in time for his debut campaign. Solid NBA use is shown with green streaks on the sides. Durant signed both (7/10) in black marker. PSA/DNA certification labels and small certificates authenticate the autographs as does a small LOA from the Sonics organization. Two Full LOAs from PSA/DNA (autographs).
