Consigned to auction directly by the Lakers' rookie point guard

2000 Los Angeles Lakers NBA Championship Ring Presented to John Celestand. A standout star of the Villanova University Wildcats, Celestand was selected as the thirtieth pick in the 1999 NBA to join one of the most talent-packed Lakers teams in history with Shaq, Kobe, Glen Rice, Robert Horry and legendary coach Phil Jackson. Three consecutive NBA Championships loomed on the horizon, but Celestand would set sail for the European league after the first, for which he earned the gorgeous symbol of achievement posted here.

The face announces "Lakers" surrounded by ten .10 carat diamonds (one full carat) and twenty-nine 0.04 carat diamonds (1.16 carat) filling in the front. "World Champions" is expressed on front. Ten .25 carat diamonds decorate the sides as well. The left shank is engraved with the young point guard's surname and boasts the Lakers' stat line below: "67-15 15-8" which compiles the Lakers' regular season and playoff records. The opposite shank reads "Bling Bling 2000" above an image of the Larry O'Brien Trophy, complete with an inset diamond. Band measures to a size nine (9), and is stamped "14K" at interior. The ring presents with light wear, housed in its original cherry wood hinged presentation box.

While a small selection of front office models have surfaced in the hobby in recent years, this player-issued prize carries far more collecting heft, offering a rare, insider's view into the start of the memorable Lakers three-peat.
