Video of consignor recounts friendly relationship with the Hall of Fame icon

1990 Michael Jordan Game Worn & Signed Nike Air Jordan V Sneakers. Check out our online listing to watch the video recounting how a devoted Chicago Bulls fan who spent weeks of his youth camped outside the Chicago Bulls practice facility developed a relationship with an ascendant Michael Jordan before he'd earned even the first of his championship rings. While autographs were always cheerfully delivered to our consignor, the story of his acquisition of this historic pair of Air Jordans is one of patience and dedication.

After conceding to Jordan that he was aware that everybody wanted shoes, the playful legend confirmed the waiting list was as long as his arm, but as the weeks passed Jordan would move the mark slightly each time, from the tip of his fingers, to his palm, to his wrist. Finally, one lucky afternoon, Jordan popped the trunk of his car and let our consignor know his wait was over, pulling out this pair and autographing each ankle in 8/10 blue sharpie.

The sneakers exhibit strong game wear, each tagged at interior ankle "891201FT1" and size "13." As is typical of Jordans from this era, the midsoles have degraded somewhat, but not nearly as heavily as many of its contemporaries. Should the winning bidder desire, we can assist with the submission of these shoes for restoration that retains the leather uppers and rubber soles, replacing the damaged midsoles with identical modern parts.

Jordan would extend his streak as the NBA's leading scorer to four of an eventual unbroken chain of seven during the 1989-90 season while leading the Bulls to the Eastern Conference Championships. This fifth edition of sneakerdom's most celebrated series debuted in February 1990, so you can find the style in footage from the early weeks of the 1990-91 NBA Championship season as well. Unfortunately we do not know from which specific game(s) these shoes derive, but early Jordan gamers with first-person provenance are always tremendously desirable.
