1989 Detroit Pistons NBA Championship Ring (Hall of Fame Forward
Dennis Rodman). Representing the first NBA championship in
franchise history, the 1988-89 Detroit Pistons finished the regular
season with a 63-19 record before sweeping the Los Angeles Lakers
in the Finals. Known as the "Bad Boys" for their physical and
unrelenting style of play, the team was anchored by a deep roster
that included Dennis Rodman, who emerged as a vital defensive
force. In his third NBA season, Rodman played in eighty-two games,
averaging 9.0 rebounds and 1.0 blocks per game, while often
guarding the opponent's best scorer. His relentless energy and
defensive versatility earned him NBA Defensive Player of the Year
honors. Rodman's contributions, particularly in the postseason,
were crucial in neutralizing key forwards and maintaining Detroit's
aggressive identity. His hustle, rebounding, and ability to shift
momentum with his play off the bench made him an invaluable part of
a championship team that would go on to repeat the following
season.Presented is the "one and only 1988-89 Detroit Pistons NBA Championship ring given to me by the team," according to an included letter of provenance from The Worm himself. A diamond-studded Larry O'Brien Trophy is set into an enamel team logo on the ring face, encircled by raised text reporting, "1989 Detroit Pistons World Champions." Left shank identifies its legendary original owner above an enamel NBA logo and the Pistons' regular and postseason records. Right shank boasts "Bad Boys" along with the details of the Finals sweep. An image of The Palace and the word "Defense" fill out the design below.
Interior band is stamped "14K Jostens" and engraved "Dennis Rodman 10." Size twelve and a half (12.5). Total weight is forty grams (40 g.). Light wear. Letter of provenance from Dennis Rodman. LOA from TJ Kaye.
