1987-88 Michael Jordan Game Worn, Signed Shoes - From Family of Sandy Grossman. While Magic and Bird helped resurrect basketball in the 1980's, it took Michael Jordan's exploits to take the game to another stratosphere. Marketing athletes took on an entire different meaning when Jordan ascended to the top of the sporting world in the 1980's. These shoes were originally given to sports TV director Sandy Grossman's son. Of all the Air Jordan styles, the third version ranks among the top. These "Air Jordan [size] 13" shoes served His Airness during the 1987-88 campaign. The bottoms of both have heavy material loss from exposure and age. While attached, three quarters of the soles have pulled away completely. The Nike logos (heel) are also gone. Jordan personalized both shoes in 7/10 ink on the sides. A letter of provenance from Grossman's son will attend. Both shoes have a size label inside and exhibit wear in the inner toe region. Letter of provenance from the son of television director Sandy Grossman. LOA from Heritage Auctions. Full LOA from PSA/DNA (for each shoe). Auction LOA from James Spence Authentication.

The hammer price for my Mantle card significantly exceeded my admittedly conservative estimations, and I couldn't be more pleased.
