1986 Northeastern University Basketball Ring Owned by Reggie Lewis. Lewis' tragic and shocking death on the practice court as a result of a congenital heart defect robbed the Boston Celtics fans of their star small forward shortly before the start of the 1993-94 NBA season. His number "35" jersey was retired by the team as a memorial, making Lewis (along with Ed Macauley) one of only two Celtics to have a retired number but no Championship ring. Here we present a ring of a different sort, awarded to Lewis during his final season as a member of the Northeastern University Huskies. The faux gold ring spells "NCAA Northeastern" around a red stone at center, with "Lewis" engraved on the left shank and "1986 North Atlantic Champs" on the right. Size thirteen. One of the few artifacts from the too-short life of this talented athlete ever to reach the auction block.
