Description

1985 Original Air Jordan I (Black and Red Colorway) Nike Sneakers. ''On October 18th, the N.B.A. threw them out of the game. Fortunately, the N.B.A. can't stop you from wearing them.'' - 1985 Air Jordan TV commercial.

Offered here are the shoes which started a revolution. No sneaker collection can be complete be without these OG "Breds" (black/red colorway) player edition representation. Uppers feature the famed "banned" colorway, with black "Nike Air" tags sewn on the tongues and the iconic "Air Jordan" logo stamped in black on the outer ankles. Meanwhile, the inside stamping of "9 850204"TY" in white confirms an early 1985 production run.

One of the main reasons the Air Jordan I is so coveted by sneakerheads is that its midsoles are made of rubber instead of polyurethane (PU), featured on later Air Jordan models, which degrades faster thanks to dydrolysis and oxidation. The level of wear on these specimens can be best described as a "vintage worn" look which provides a satisfying period display appeal. A hand-check will find an acceptable level of crumbling on the inner ankle PU foam padding, which is usually the biggest drawback on this particular issue. Outersole "Nike" stamping and original red places are both still present. The Holy Grail for sneakerheads the world over.
