Description

1985-87 Magic Johnson Game Worn & Signed Los Angeles Lakers Sneakers from The Nate D Grate Collection. It's one of the most recognizable (and coveted) styles of the 1980's hardcourt, an unmistakable relic from the days when Magic and Larry Bird battled for the Converse team while a young Michael Jordan tugged the other side of the rope for Nike. A style that was worn during the prime of his career, this is the style found on the legendary point guard's feet during the glorious 1987 season when Johnson earned both the NBA regular season and NBA Finals MVP Awards. No size tagging is present (as typical), but shoes measure to a proper size fourteen. The purple "Magic" text at ankles was only available to the man himself.

The pair exhibits evidence of game use, including creasing to the leather uppers. Some degradation can be seen on the surface of the tongues from age and storage, but this does not significantly compromise the overall wonderful visual aesthetics of the sneakers. Additionally, the "Take Care, Earvin Magic Johnson #32" in vintage blue ballpoint features the rare inclusion of his given name. A truly stellar representation that evoke fond memories of Magic in his prime. LOA from Heritage Auctions. Full LOA from PSA/DNA. Full LOA from Beckett Authentication Services.
