Description
1983 Philadelphia 76ers NBA Championship Ring (Front Office Executive). The 1983 Philadelphia 76ers delivered one of the most dominant seasons in NBA history, finishing with a 65-17 regular-season record and capping it with a 12-1 run through the playoffs to claim the franchise's third NBA championship. Led by league MVP Moses Malone, who famously predicted "Fo', Fo', Fo'" in the playoff run, the team combined physical dominance with veteran savvy. Julius Erving continued to provide elite scoring and leadership, while Maurice Cheeks and Andrew Toney offered dynamic backcourt play. Under head coach Billy Cunningham, the Sixers blended elite defense with a well-balanced offense. Malone's presence in the paint transformed the team, allowing Erving and Toney more freedom offensively. The Sixers swept the Lakers in the Finals, avenging their 1982 loss and firmly establishing themselves as one of the all-time great teams. The presented ring was issued to Finance Director Daniel Durso, who supplies a signed letter of provenance, and it is identical in construction to those earned by the players themselves. A large, genuine diamond is set into a round red stone on the face, holding raised lettering reading, "NBA World Champions" in its orbit. Left shank is dominated by the NBA logo with the year "1983" and the word "Defense" sharing residence. Right shank identifies the recipient above a correction of Malone's prediction--"Fo' Five Fo'," an image of the Liberty Bell, the team record and the word "Persevere." Interior band is stamped, "Balfour 14K" and measures to a size ten and a half (10.5). Weight is thirty-six grams (36 g.). Light to moderate wear. Presented in original Balfour ring box and cardboard packaging. Letter of provenance from recipient.
Guide Value or Estimate: $30,000 - up.
