1983-84 Michael Cooper (Los Angeles Lakers ) Game Worn & Signed "Player Exclusive" Sneakers. An eight-time NBA All-Defensive Team selection and the 1987 NBA Defensive Player of the Year, Michael Cooper was "the stopper" for the Lakers during the 1980's and a vital ingredient on five NBA championship teams.

On defense, he checked the other team's top players, facing off against offensive machines like Larry Bird, The Doctor, The Iceman, and Alex English. On offense, he was known for giving Magic a breather at the point, filling the lanes in Showtime, and wowing fans with his thirty-nine-inch vertical and patented "Coop-a Loop." Most significant of all, though, might be his clutch play when important games were on the line. There were game-saving and -winning shots in Game 5 of the 1985 Finals, Game 5 of the 1988 Western Conference Finals, and Game 7 of the 1988 Finals. And who can forget Coop coming from the other side of the court to black Dale Ellis' attempted three and save Game 3 of the 1987 Western Conference Finals.

Cooper's game worn Nike Blazer's are offered here and present white leather uppers with purple leather Nike Swoosh's sewn on to both sides of each sneaker. Purple outer soles, white rubber mids, and the correct period coding are other significant elements of these size "13" exemplars. Best of all, "Coop" appears in blue on the back ankle of each sneaker. Furthermore, each shoe is signed in vintage black sharpie on the outer ankles. For a style match, see Getty Images 478648136.
