    Description

1982 NCAA Finals UNC Tar Heels Championship Ticket Stub Signed by Michael Jordan, PSA/DNA Auto 10--Population One! Three future Hall of Famers would do battle at the Louisiana Superdome on March 29, 1982 to determine whether Michael Jordan and James Worthy's UNC Tarheels or Patrick Ewing's Georgetown Hoyas were the best team in collegiate basketball. It would prove to be one of the most exciting and fiercely contested Finals in March Madness history, providing the freshman Jordan with the first of many watershed moments on the national stage, a fifteen-foot jumper from the left baseline with seventeen seconds to play which would prove to be the final points scored in Carolina's 63 to 62 victory. On this date, the legend of Air Jordan was born.

Fewer than forty stubs from that historic contest appear in a PSA slab, but only a single specimen bears the autograph of the man who hit the game-winner, and you're looking at it. And what a beauty it is, a virtually perfect stub bearing a quite literally perfect black sharpie signature. An included certificate of authenticity with a serial number matching the one affixed to the back of the ticket (UAS19113) tells us that the autograph was applied at the 2016 Michael Jordan Flight School Camp in Santa Barbara, California. As many collectors know, these autograph sessions almost never appear in the online Upper Deck database, but the matching Upper Deck COA and validation from PSA/DNA eliminate any authenticity concerns. After an unsigned ticket stub from Jordan's first professional appearance sold for $35,000 in a Heritage auction a year ago, the hobby will be watching this lot carefully on closing night. COA from UDA (UAS19113). Encapsulated by PSA/DNA, Auto 10.
