Description

1980's Magic Johnson Game Worn & Signed Sneakers Gifted to Mike Tyson's Manager. Before Michael Jordan claimed the sneaker world for his own namesake brand, the purple Magic format of Converse and the contrasting green worn by Larry Bird were the undisputed kings, so these historic kicks carry enormous collecting appeal for game worn collectors and "sneakerheads" alike. This pair exhibits exceptional game wear from the glory years of the "Showtime" era in Los Angeles.

Beyond the glorious style and connection to one of the greatest eras in Lakers history, these shoes are special for their connection to another monster of mid-80's sports, "Iron Mike" Tyson. Each shoe is personalized and inscribed to Tyson's manager Rory Holloway, who once rescued Michael Jordan from the wrath of his savage Heavyweight Champ when a drunken Tyson started berating MJ for his past history with Tyson's wife Robin Givens.

Each inscription and signature appears in the boldest of black sharpie at each exterior heel, and the shoes present without any of the rubber sole degradation so common to decades-old basketball shoes. A special lot connecting two of the biggest names in 1980's sports. LOA from Heritage Auctions. Full LOA from PSA/DNA.
