1980's Larry Bird Game Worn Shoe - From Family of Sandy Grossman. Collector's will be hard-pressed to find another type of Larry Bird Converse shoe more coveted than this style. Larry Legend wore this Converse right shoe when he was drilling jumpers and talking trash. We estimate the vintage as mid '80's, during the height of the Larry vs. Magic advertising campaign. Following a roundball contest, Bird gave the artifact to sports director Sandy Grossman. Moderate scuffing appears on the black exterior. An orthopaedic is installed inside for heel comfort. Bird signed the white heel portion in 8/10 felt tip and personalized the signature "To Dean." Letter of provenance from the son of television director Sandy Grossman. LOA from Heritage Auctions. Full LOA from PSA/DNA. Auction LOA from James Spence Authentication.

The hammer price for my Mantle card significantly exceeded my admittedly conservative estimations, and I couldn't be more pleased.
