    Description

1978-79 Michael Jordan Laney High School Football Program & Team Photograph. One of the greatest athletic careers in American history began in a sleepy town in North Carolina where a teenaged Michael Jordan took the first steps toward the pinnacle of superstardom. Presented is a selection of rare keepsakes from Jordan's alma mater Laney High School. Our favorite is a color 8x10" photo of the 1978 varsity football team picturing the skinny legend-in-waiting seated third from the right in the back row. Also here is a program for the 1979 homecoming game that pictures Jordan kneeling second from right in the basketball team photo. Finally, we have a second football program dating to 1980, which shows Jordan on the track and baseball teams.
