1976 James Silas San Antonio Spurs Most Popular Player Award. Sponsored by the Pearl Brewing Company, this 1976 San Antonio Spurs ABA Most Popular Player Award was given to James Silas. "Captain Late" did indeed enjoy a great season in 1975-76 with the Spurs, averaging 23.8 points per game, as well as 5.4 rebounds, 4 assists and 1.8 steals each contest. The award measures 20x14" and is about one inch thick, with the exception of the actual spur that juts out another inch-and-a-half from the base. The award shows nice use, with scratching, some spotting, and the nameplate slightly warped upward. Still, a fantastic piece of ABA history.
