1971 John Wooden NCAA Championship Presentational Wristwatch. Recently named the greatest sports coach of all time by The Sporting News, the ninety-eight year old Wooden beat out such legends as Vince Lombardi, Bear Bryant and Don Shula to take top honors. It's tough to argue against this mastermind of the hardcourt, who claimed ten NCAA Basketball Championships over a twelve-year period while leading the likes of Lew Alcindor and Bill Walton at UCLA. Presented here is a relic from the seventh of those titles, a wristwatch which Wooden sent to a buddy with the following engraving on verso: "To Rod Turner, Princeton, My Golf Partner and Close Friend, Coach John R. Wooden, U.C.L.A., June 1971." The Bulova brand watch is emblazoned with "NCAA Basketball Championship 1971" on the face, and keeps perfect time almost forty years after its creation. NRMT condition.
