1964-65 "Outstanding Metropolitan High School Athlete" Award Presented to Lew Alcindor from The Kareem Abdul-Jabbar Collection.UPDATE: This lot will be accompanied by a letter of provenance from Kareem Abdul-Jabbar.
Wood plaque with two golden figural ballers soaring above golden inscription plate which reads: "Courtsmen Award To Lew Alcindor. Outstanding Metropolitan High School Athlete 1964-65." This award would have been presented to Big Lew during his senior season at Power Memorial High School where he set records and won three straight city titles. Measures 12x8". Note: The golden decorative motif to the right of the inscription plate is only partially present. Originally obtained from Kareem Abdul-Jabbar.
