The greatest offensive output in the history of the NBA

1962 Philadelphia Warriors Wilt Chamberlain 100 Point Game Ticket Stub. Every basketball collector wants one, and nobody has one. In fact, our auction results database dating back to 1999 indicates only three offerings of this stub in the past thirteen years! Despite the enormous scarcity of relics from this Hershey, Pennsylvania contest, every fan on earth knows the event. On March 2, 1962, the seven-foot one inch superstar center for the Philadelphia Warriors became the first (and, to this date, only) man in NBA history to require a third digit on his personal scoring sheet, dropping an even one hundred in a 169-147 victory over the visiting New York Knicks. Just over four thousand fans were on hand to witness this stunning display of offensive production, so the scarcity of surviving stubs is little surprise.

Though the other major American sports have a good distance to travel before pulling equal with baseball in the sports collectibles market, the hobby's balance of power is unquestionably shifting, the National Pastime losing a bit of its lead every year to the newer professional leagues. We've seen the greatest surge in recent years within the basketball market, so those with an eye to investment should be encouraged to participate in a market that is statistically as bullish as they come. If a ticket of equivalent rarity and historical importance existed within the baseball market today, a six-figure price tag wouldn't be surprising. And the golf market, which has likewise enjoyed a sizeable head-start over basketball, recently drove a comparably rare inaugural Masters ticket beyond the $30,000 mark. By all accounts, what's past is prologue for the future of basketball collectibles.

Stub exhibits corner and minor verso toning from scrapbook adhesion, otherwise fine. Encapsulated "Authentic" by PSA.
