    Description

1958 Harlem Globetrotters Featuring Wilt Chamberlain Broadside. Denied the option of entering the NBA prior to completing his studies at the University of Kansas, history's greatest "big man" opted for a year of play with the Harlem Globetrotters, earning the astronomical sum of $50,000 for his year of service. Here we find one of the few surviving artifacts from that brief partnership, printed to promote an April 4th game at Eugene, Oregon's McArthur Court. Terrific color artwork is from the pen and mind of famed The Sporting News cartoonist Willard Mullin, best remembered as the creator of the Brooklyn Dodgers' mascot Bum. The poster measures 14x22" in size, with a few tack holes medium edge wear throughout. Neither of these concerns is particularly evident except upon close inspection, providing an NM appearance despite a technically lower grade. A classic 'trotters piece.
