1952-53 Bob Cousy NBA Player of the Year Trophy with Cousy Letter. He was one of the most influential players in the history of the sport, benched by his coach in his collegiate days for the flashy style of play that would later lead the Boston Celtics to six NBA Championships and define the game for future generations and players from Maravich to Erving to Jordan. Cousy's agility and vision established him as the NBA's premier point guard throughout his fourteen seasons at the professional game's highest level, earning him a well-deserved seat at the table of the Fifty Greatest Players in History.

Here we present one of the more important personal awards to derive from The Houdini of the Hardwood's bulging trophy case, a large and impressive trophy issued during the Hall of Famer's third season in the league by the Professional Basketball Writers Association. This would prove to be the first of eight consecutive seasons atop the NBA assists leaderboard. Engraved brass plaque on the bakelite base reads, "NBA Player of the Year, Bob Cousy, Boston, PBWA 1952-53." Height is a commanding twenty-four inches. Minor handling/storage wear but no damage to note. Included is a letter of provenance signed by Cousy himself. Letter of provenance from Bob Cousy.

The hammer price for my Mantle card significantly exceeded my admittedly conservative estimations, and I couldn't be more pleased.
