1930's James Naismith Typed Manuscript Pages with Handwritten Notes, Drawings (12). Early draft manuscript is believed to be for Naismith's later book, "Basketball: Its Origin and Development." This chapter, entitled "Modifications of Basket Ball" presents an intriguing view of the artistic process, as Naismith includes many handwritten notations and alterations to his typed copy and, most notably, a pair of drawings on the first page that picture an early oval basketball court and the first hoop/basket. All writing remains in 10/10 condition, and the pages show mild edge wear and toning but present without any noteworthy flaws.
