1930's James Naismith Handwritten Manuscript re: Basketball Rules. Tremendous basketball content makes this four-page handwritten document a treasure to collectors and historians alike. Text addresses the variances in rules ("...The high schools play the A.A.U. rules because most of their floors are small...), and the impact of officials on the game (...There were several good officials produced this year. The best of them being a Nat'l baseball umpire who held the game in the same way he would hold a baseball game..."). He is disappointed that "in the Mo. Valley Conference the faculty...failed to provide for a Championship..." He closes, "The season as a whole has been successful, the rules have given very good satisfaction and few changes have been suggested..." First page has small chip at upper right corner removed but present, otherwise pages average VG-EX. Ink is a consistent 9/10. LOA from PSA/DNA.
