    Description

1916 James Naismith Leatherbound Notebook with Handwritten Notes. Small (4x6") volume has handwritten listing (in unknown hand) of what appears to be the names of all members of the 1st Kansas Infantry Regiment, with whom Naismith served as chaplain. Four pages at close of book are in Naismith's hand however, including what appears to be a drawing of a basketball hoop and a listing of baseball equipment: "1 catcher's mitt, 1 base mitt, 11 mask, 3 bats, 1 ball..." Pencil writing is 10/10. Book shows moderate wear but remains solid and complete. Also here are nine unmailed postcards picturing the regiment, though it is not clear if Naismith is among the masses of soldiers. Postcards average EX.
