1894 James Naismith Inscribed & Signed Book Page. Three pages removed from the front of a volume of poetry by eighteenth century Scottish bard Robert Burns finds Naismith dedicating the gift of the book to his future wife using Burns' ancient form of speech. To the best of our abilities, we interpret the writing as follows: "Maude Evelyn Sherman, Tae the bonniest Lass Frae her ain gawere Callan, Jeems. 1894, Jas Naismith O.B., O.B. stands for Old Bachelor." All ink is 9+/10. Pages show expected edge wear and light toning, but these factors do not affect the text. 3.75x5.75". LOA from PSA/DNA.
