1956 Minneapolis Lakers Team Signed Basketball. Infinitely more scarce than the 1950's team signed baseball are basketballs signed by N.B.A. clubs of that decade, so finding one from the '56 Lakers, much less one so brilliantly preserved, is quite remarkable. This fine specimen boasts nine bold black ink signatures from the team that finished second in the Western Division that year. Best is the huge autograph from Hall of Famer George Mikan, who was coaxed out of retirement mid-season as the Lakers struggled in the wake of the loss of the legendary Jim Pollard. Also present are Garmaker, Hitch, Skoog, Mencel, Mikkelsen, Martin, assistant coach MacMillan and Hall of Fame coach Kundla. None of the signatures fall below 9/10 in quality, and the ball shows only minor wear and remains nicely spherical for display purposes. LOA from PSA/DNA.
