Description

'Stronger Together' Hand-Painted Basketball Signed by Charlie Villanueva and Jordan Walsh - Created by FUTAKU Studios and Dora 'Byzeneth' Rosa. As the first player in NBA history to be diagnosed with Alopecia, Charlie Villanueva leverages his influence as an NBA star to mentor, educate, and advocate for the Alopecia community. Now, Charlie Villanueva passes the torch to his protege Jordan Walsh. The Boston Celtics drafted Jordan Walsh in the 2023 Draft making Walsh the second player in NBA history to have Alopecia. Together, Charlie Villanueva and Jordan Walsh unify the Alopecia community by championing their Stronger Together message.
Walsh explained his motivation in an interview with The Atlantic stating, "Some people that aren't playing basketball are scared to act in certain ways and do certain things because of how they look and how people are treating them. Me being able to be that beacon of light and hope for those kids is what drives me."
The hand-painted ball features Charlie Villanueva and Jordan Walsh reimagined as superheroes inspired by Charlie Villanueva's animated series, The Alopecians. Villanueva partnered with Dallas-based FUTAKU Studios and Dora 'Byzeneth' Reynosa to create the artwork and paint the one-of-one basketball. Every dollar from this sale will be donated to support The Alopecians and Charlie Villanueva's online platform, Alopecia.Community. Full LOA from PSA/DNA.

More Information: In November 2022, Charlie Villanueva and FUTAKU Studios Director Mike Fukunaga announced the production of The Alopecians, an animated series centered around Alopecia and its supernatural ability to bestow superpowers upon its hosts. The series provides a message of hope that empowers people with Alopecia. After debuting The Alopecians animated teaser, Charlie Villanueva launched Alopecia.Community, an online platform that connects people with Alopecia from all over the world. Alopecia.Communtiy hosts forums with celebrity guests, Q&As, and serves as a helpful resource that educates its users about Alopecia.
