Description
Rare 1968 Topps Test Basketball Wrappers, Lot of 2. The modern era for basketball cards were the "tall boy" cards of 1969 which were the first cards sold to the public but not the first late-1960's basketball cards Topps produced. There is a very rare 22-card test set that had a roster only the HoF can improve upon including what would be a rookie card debut of John Havlicek. Traditionally these test cards have been dated to 1968 but team designations and images suggest the concept was seeded as early as 1967. One thing that is for sure is they are extremely rare. Naturally the same goes for any other collectible associated with a test issue like this white, paper envelope with two-color label which served as a wrapper for the cards which were then likely used to secure licensing rights and/or as a promotional tool for Topps executives, etc. Offered is not one but two of the rare test wrappers. None contain a card. All are sealed close and display strongly. Keep one and who knows what you can get in trade.Auction Info
