1969 Topps Elvin Hayes #75 PSA NM 7. He played exactly fifty thousand minutes of NBA ball, but his first 3,695 accounted for one of the greatest rookie campaigns in the history of the sport. The first overall pick in the 1968 NBA draft proved that the selection was justified, as Hayes would notch a staggering average of 28.4 points per game to lead the league in scoring, a prodigious output that included a career-best fifty-four against the Detroit Pistons. Hayes' scoring average stands as fifth-best all time for an NBA rookie, and he remains the last rookie to have led the league in the statistic.
