1961 Fleer Oscar Robertson #36 PSA NM-MT 8. Looking for something undervalued? Maybe an Oscar Robertson rookie card is just the ticket. Robertson was on the Crispus Attucks High School basketball team, the team that lost in the 1954 Indiana state quarterfinals to Milan, later immortalized in the iconic movie Hoosiers. Robertson led the University of Cincinnati to two Final Four appearances, and he was a co-captain with Jerry West of the 1960 United States Men's Olympic Gold Medal winners. Then Robertson joined the NBA. Perhaps a reason Robertson lacks some of the fame he deserves is because the Hall of Famer played his entire NBA career in Cincinnati and Milwaukee, smaller cities out of the national media spotlight. Perhaps it is because Robertson rarely had a supporting cast that could lead to an NBA championship. The one time he had a top supporting cast, with the Milwaukee Bucks, which included another NBA superstar, Kareem Abdul-Jabbar (then named Lew Alcindor) Robertson and Abdul-Jabbar took the Bucks to the 1970-71 title.

Oscar was a big point guard for his time, at 6'5" and 205-220 lbs. In his rookie season with the Cincinnati Royals, Robertson almost averaged a triple double. He scored at 30.5 PPG, had 10.1 RPG, and had 9.7 APG. He earned Rookie of the Year honors. The next season, Robertson became the first NBA player in history to average a triple double as he had 30.8 PPG, 12.5 RPG, and 11.4 APG. "The Big O" was the MVP in 1963-64 and a 12-time All-Star. Perhaps this undervalued rookie card is calling your name. Graded PSA NM-MT 8.
