1961 Fleer Len Wilkins #44 PSA Gem Mint 10 - Pop Three. "Lenny" Wilkens has the distinction of being a three-time HoFer! He was honored in 1989 for his playing career, again in 1998 as a coach and again in 2010 for his contribution as assistant coach with the 1992 Olympic "Dream Team." Whatever role Wilkens played he saw success. At Providence College he took the team to the first NIT appearance in school history (1959) and again in 1960. He was the first alumnus to have his jersey retired. A 16-year professional career followed, his first eight seasons playing for the St. Louis Hawks. Wilkens made nine All-Star game appearances including MVP honors in 1971. Upon retirement, Wilkens amassed 17,772 points and was #2 all-time in assists leader second to Oscar Robertson.

The first card to feature Wilkens is this card #44 from the 1961 Fleer series. Offered is one of only three examples to earn a PSA Gem MT 10 rating. When a card is without flaws it is no surprise we find a "Gem MT" label. What is surprising is that after more than a half-century this card is essentially fresh from the pack and somehow avoided public circulation.
