Description

1961 Fleer Clyde Lovellette #29 PSA Mint 9 - Only Two Higher! Clyde Lovellette was a 6' 9" center who was a standout performer in college before embarking on an 11-year career in the NBA. A solid shooter, he was the NCAA scoring champ in 1952, the same season he led the Kansas Jayhawks to the NCAA title. His tenure in the NBA was also fruitful as he captured three NBA titles, one with the Minneapolis Lakers in 1954 and two more with the Boston Celtics in 1963 and '64. He was inducted into the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame in 1988. Offered is a 1961 Fleer card featuring the big man. Card #29 from the '61 Fleer series shows a close-up of Lovellette peering off into the distance. This example is found in great condition with robust color, nice centering, milky white borders, and a clean reverse. Graded PSA Mint 9. Of the 577 examples found in the PSA Pop Report, this is one of only 27 cards graded MINT with just two rated higher.
