1957 Topps Bob Cousy #17 PSA NM-MT 8. It was in 1957 when Topps rolled the dice on an unproven court with an 80-card promotion giving the hobby the rookie cards of all-time greats Bill Russell, Bob Petit and this man - Celtics legend Bob Cousey. A lone basketball entry of any brand from the 1950's, it is essentially an entire set of rookie cards. When Boston Garden hosted the greatest Championship run in NBA history, the period became known as "The Bill Russell Era." The contributions of 1971 Hall of Fame inductee Bob Cousy can not be minimized. The superstar point guard averaged nearly twenty points per game over his 13 years of service in Boston. His #14 was retired by the Celtics when he retired in 1963. Graded PSA NM-MT 8. One of thirty-three in NM-MT with a handful rated higher. The offered example has no immediately discernable flaws. Looking like it was just removed from a pack, this is the highest graded example Heritage has had the opportunity to present to our bidders.
