A dazzling rarity from the momentous "Last Dance" season!

1997 SkyBox Premium Michael Jordan (Star Rubies) #235 PSA NM 7 - #'d 42/50. With a full fist of championship gold already on his fingers, the GOAT was soaring toward number six when this elite rarity was produced for distribution in Series Two packs of SkyBox Premium basketball cards. Just fifty collectors enjoyed the Wonka-esque thrill of finding this "Golden Ticket" of sorts, a mesmerizing trading card that marked an early salvo in the ever-expanding battle to tempt the hobby with aesthetic and technological advancements.

Star Rubies parallels rank among the most celebrated NBA collectibles of the 1990's, and Jordan enjoys two appearances in the 1997-98 edition to double the chances of discovery, however this is just about universally considered the more desirable of the pair due to the dynamic image used--the other is relatively sedate.

Just twenty-two of the original fifty appear in the population of PSA, and it's important to note that this recent addition to that census provides aesthetics we'd characterize as minimally NM-MT despite its official PSA NM 7 assessment. Verso bears the "042 of 50" limited edition information, a number that brings to mind the man who saved the soul of baseball, MJ's second athletic love.
