1997-98 Metal Universe "Precious Metal Gems" Scottie Pippen (Red) #83 BGS NM-MT 8 - #'d 88/100. Inspired and surpassing his pioneering point-forward predecessors Rick Barry, John Johnson and Paul Pressey, Scottie Pippen took the position into uncharted territory in terms of its job description and importance to the offense. In his role as master facilitator, Pippen's ability to handle and pass the basketball at 6-8 allowed Jordan to concentrate on what he did best - scoring and ending games. It is true what they say, "No man is an island" and in Pippen, Jordan had what seemed like a tailor-made teammate for success.This series already has a history of auction fireworks with Jordan cards selling well into the six-figures. Offered is a 1997-98 Metal Universe "Precious Metal Gems" card featuring Scottie Pippen. The cards are a limited edition capped at the 100 mark. The first ten are Emerald versions meaning the Red variants are actually a little more scarce as really only 90 were produced. Graded BGS NM-MT 8 with subgrades: Centering 9.5, Corners 8.5, Edges 7, Surface 9. Limited edition - #88/100.
