    Description

The full contingent of Jordan cards, each bearing a bold sharpie signature!

1986 Michael Jordan Signed Star Cards Lot of 10. From 1983 to 1986, Star Basketball cards were the only issue licensed by the NBA until Fleer elbowed its way in with its legendary 1986-87 debut. It's undeniably one of the more unusual entries in The Standard Catalog, issued in polybags by team or various other themed subsets in quantities well below the era's standard trading card production runs. Most experts place the set production tally at a figure in the neighborhood of 5,000.

But when further narrowing that population to autographed examples, the Star brand stands among the rarest of the post-war era, establishing the offered lot as one of the most thrilling Heritage has presented to enthusiasts of Jordan cardboard. Star would produce ten cards featuring the 1984-85 NBA Rookie of the Year in their 1986 print run, and each and every one of them is gathered here, bearing a bold black sharpie signature from the greatest name in the game.

The cards are consigned to us by one of the Jacobson brothers. The Dallas-area fraternal duo spent a decade at Mavericks games playing the role of autograph chasers, compiling one of the largest and most comprehensive assemblies of NBA autographs from the mid-1980's to the mid-1990's on the face of the Earth. This is unquestionably one of the most impressive components of the brothers' collection, which has been featured in a number of local Dallas newspaper articles which will be included in the lot as provenance.

Matching the high quality of the autographs, the cards themselves present in high-grade, each carefully placed into clear plastic corners in an eye-catching framed display (18x18"). Should the winning bidder choose to remove the cards from the display, he or she will be able to do so easily without causing any damage in the process. A compelling showpiece and an attractive target for the hobby investor aware of just how limited MJ's signing practices have become in recent years, a trend the billionaire athlete is unlikely to abandon. Full LOA from Beckett.
