1986 Fleer Michael Jordan #57 PSA Gem Mint 10. The seeds that began to bloom for the game of Basketball were planted in the late 1970's with to the college rivalry between Larry Bird and Magic Johnson. Their on and off court persona helped bring the game to the public eye taking the sports to heights of popularity not seen in the games 100-Year history. Around the same time a young name named Jordan was playing for North Carolina. Under coach Dean Smith, Jordan saw immediate success with a National title in 1981 but cut short is years there in 1983/84 after being honored with the 1984 Naismith College Player of the Year award (he would return to complete his degree). His years in Chicago turned a team averaging 31 wins a season (1981-85) into a virtually unstoppable powerhouse that earned six World Championships in eight seasons averaging 61 wins a season! What the Wright Brothers did for flight, Bird and Johnson did for basketball. Following that comparison, that would make Michael Jordan nothing short of the Space Shuttle Columbia! Presented is one of the most sought-after modern cards of any type, and arguably the most popular card from any era or sport: here's an opportunity for a basketball card collector to reach the pinnacle. The offered rookie is clearly a pack-fresh example, with impeccable centering and superb color. The bold, perfectly focused and brilliant image of Jordan absolutely radiates through its pristine layer of uninterrupted, original surface gloss. The market for this card is only growing and this is one of the finest examples to be found. Graded PSA Gem MT 10, four perfect and apparently never-touched edges culminate in pinpoint-sharp corners. Not a flaw in the color, gloss or surfaces. This is the most important rookie card in the hobby at a grade worthy of the man who made people believe they could fly. Of the over 13,500 examples that have been graded by PSA, this ranks among the top 1.5% of those submissions and you will never worry about another ever graded higher.
