1986 Fleer Basketball Complete Set (132) - Every Card Graded PSA Mint 9! In 1969, the fabled "Tall Boys" of the 1969-70 Topps issue helped to bring basketball to the ever-growing base of fans who would grow up on the talents of veterans like Jerry West and Wilt Chamberlain but not a younger class of newbies with names like Pete Maravich, Lew Alcindor (Kareem Abdul-Jabbar) and soon Julius Erving. Another wave hit the courts thanks to a perceived rivalry between Larry Bird and Magic Johnson that started in the NCAA which fed the NBA publicity machine a decade later.

The landmark 1986 Fleer series did the same largely due to the number fifty-seven card dedicated to the iconic Michael Jordan. The set also introduced a list of established stars and an unbeatable class of rookie debuts in Charles Barkley, Clyde Drexler, Joe Dumars, Patrick Ewing, Karl Malone, Manute Bol, Wayman Tisdale, Chris Mullin, Hakeem Olajuwon, Isiah Thomas, Dominique Wilkins, James Worthy, Patrick Ewing, Magic Johnson, Julius Erving, Larry Bird and Kareem Abdul-Jabbar.
