Description

Early 1930's Lou Gehrig Single Signed Baseball. It was a combination of the superstar first baseman's characteristically German modesty and the public's single-minded fixation upon his teammate Babe Ruth that kept Lou Gehrig from claiming a large volume of horsehide for himself, leaving modern collectors of single signed baseballs woefully unsupplied. We'll do our part to remedy that situation here with the presentation of a very solid example of this scarce solo effort, applied to the side panel of a non-official ball laced with two-tone stitching that is so evocative of the early 20th century Official models. The Iron Horse's "Best Wishes, Lou Gehrig" rates 6/10 on the apparently game used horsehide. As more and more Gehrigs find their way into permanent private collections, offerings such as this can only become fewer and further between. Full LOA from James Spence Authentication. Pre-certified by PSA/DNA.
