One of the finest examples we've encountered...

Circa 1930 Babe Ruth & Lou Gehrig Dual-Signed Baseball, PSA/DNA EX-MT+ 6.5. Glorious representation celebrates the most dominant slugging tandem in the history of the sport, unquestionably one of the finest pairings on horsehide that we've encountered. The Babe's sweet spot offering is nearly as strong as the one that drove the price of a single in our 2012 August Platinum Night auction to $388,375, as the black fountain pen ink remains as bold as the date of its application. It earns an 8 rating from PSA/DNA.

Gehrig is a shade lighter to the east at 7/10, but still wonderfully bold and commanding the full breadth of the panel. The medium is an OAL (Barnard) sphere, a format that saw use between 1929 and 1931. It rates 5/10. In each of these three seasons, Ruth and Gehrig finished numbers one and two in the American League home run competition. Beyond a slight, even toning commensurate with its age, the ball likewise approaches its centennial virtually untouched by the hands of Father Time.

Certainly this is not a target for those simply looking to fill an empty spot in their collections, but rather an elite specimen for the uncompromising hobbyist who demands the very best. It's also worthy of note that the top-tier autographed material has seen the most consistent upward pricing trend over the past two decades of hobby sales. Full Grading LOA from PSA/DNA, EX-MT+ 6.5 (Ruth 8, Gehrig 7, ball 5).
