2015 Alex Rodriguez Major League Record Grand Slam #25 Game Used & Signed Bat, PSA/DNA GU 10. What a way to end a drought! The aging legend had not gone deep since his fortieth birthday on July 27, 2015, a span of seventy-two at bats. To put that figure into perspective, we remind you that A-Rod retired with 696 home runs in 10,566 at bats, an average of one home run for every fifteen at-bats.

But down four-to-one to the visiting Minnesota Twins in the bottom of the seventh inning of the August 18, 2015 game at Yankee Stadium, Rodriguez launched a 420-foot blast into the Yankees bullpen to take the lead and bring a crowd of 38,000 to its feet. The blast moved him two grand slams ahead of former record holder and fellow Yankee great Lou Gehrig, and remains the standing record to this date, as he'd never hit another. The closest active player is Albert Pujols at fourteen.

The home run was, coincidentally, the twenty-fifth of Rodriguez' 2015 campaign, thus the 679th of his illustrious career. The Twins would not score again in the game, making it the game-winner as well.

Here is the bat that cemented an all-time record nearly as safe as Cy Young's victories and Nolan Ryan's strikeouts, a nearly pristine signature model Louisville Slugger C271L that must have seen its first action in that game. We note a few scattered ball marks, and light pine tar on the uncracked handle. Production date, length and weight are stamped into the knob: "07/15/15, 34.0/31.5."

Rodriguez attests to the supreme significance of the bat in 9+/10 silver sharpie on the barrel, signing, "Alex Rodriguez, Grand Slam #25, MLB Record, 8-18-15." Major League Baseball confirms those details with its holographic authentication sticker affixed to the barrel. The pinnacle piece for the most exciting play in baseball. LOA from PSA/DNA, GU 10. MLB Authentic HZ877814. Steiner SS159280. Full LOA from PSA/DNA (autograph).
