Description
1998 New York Yankees World Series Championship Ring in Original Display Box. Second only to the 1927 edition in the estimation of most baseball historians, the 1998 New York Yankees completed their four-game World Series sweep of the San Diego Padres to achieve a final record of 125-50, inclusive of their postseason victories. While the ballclub was not as thick with Hall of Fame talent as it has been in more recent years, fan favorites like Tino, Bernie, Brosius, and O'Neill proved to form the most effective line-up of the modern dynasty, earning Bronx immortality. This historic hardware features genuine diamonds studding the Yankees logo "NY" on the ring face, set within an oval blue stone encircled by still more diamonds. "1998 World Champions" follows the perimeter in raised lettering. The surname of George Steinbrenner's former son-in-law and the word "Tradition" frame a miniature Stadium and Series trophy on the left shank, while the right boasts of the remarkable win/lost record with the words "Best Ever" framing a Yankees hat and bat logo. "Balfour 14K" stamping appears at the band's interior, which measures to a size ten (10). Weight is thirty-six grams (36 g). Fine condition. Original wooden display box is included.
