Description

1990 Topps Frank Thomas (No Name On Front) Rookie #414 PSA NM-MT 8. Sometimes no matter how hard you try things can go wrong. One of the most famous errors of the 1990's affects the Topps rookie card of HOFer Frank Thomas who was making his MLB debut with the Chicago White Sox. Being released at the time when the "Big Hurt" was just starting to make a name for himself, it seems Topps may have thought facial recognition was enough as the first version of this card was released without "Frank Thomas" appearing in the blue banner. Although there are always going to be printing hiccups, this is a certified variation that is missing an important element of the card.

Graded PSA NM-MT 8. Just how scarce is this card? The PSA census currently shows less than 250 examples of this variation reside in PSA holders while well over 17,500 of the standard version rest in PSA slabs.
