1981 McDonald's All-American High School Basketball Program Signed by Michael Jordan & Ticket.

UPDATE: The signed program will be accompanied by a full LOA from PSA/DNA.

The greatest high school talent ever assembled on one court? It's hard to argue otherwise. The legendary burger purveyor has held an annual competition between the top American and Canadian high school basketball players since 1977, when a kid named Earvin Johnson--you know him best as "Magic"--was the star of the show.

But four years later, this showcase to benefit Ronald McDonald House Charities enjoyed the talents of the sport's greatest ever, a Laney (NC) High School star by the name of Michael Jordan. Believe it or not, he was one of four men from that event to gain Hall of Fame immortality, along with future Dream Team members Patrick Ewing and Chris Mullin. Iconic coach John Wooden was the fourth.

Each of these eternal residents of Springfield appears among the eighteen bold ballpoint ink signatures that adorn the interior of the provided game program, serving up some of the earliest exemplars known from the three teenagers bound for Gold Medals and bronze immortality. Remarkably, fourteen of the twenty-five players in the game made at least one appearance in an NBA uniform.

The twenty-four-page program from the April 11, 1981 contest at Henry Levitt Arena in Wichita, Kansas exhibits a degree of handling and storage wear, with a short tear at right edge (about 1") affecting every page but no signatures. Interior score sheet has been filled out in ink--almost certainly the same pen used for the autographs--documenting Jordan's new scoring record for the event of thirty points.

Equally thrilling is the only known ticket stub from the event, presenting beautifully in a PSA slab, though verso has a young lady's handwritten phone number, suggesting basketball wasn't the only thing on the spectator's mind that day. A spectacularly rare and early matched pair of relics from Jordan's first appearance upon a national stage. Ticket encapsulated by PSA, Authentic. Full LOA from PSA/DNA (autographs).
