With letter of provenance from the Hall of Fame hurler!

1978 New York Yankees World Series Championship Trophy Presented to Goose Gossage. Free agency brought the Hall of Fame reliever to the Bronx in 1978, joining a powerhouse team anxious to defend its first World Championship in a decade and a half, the longest drought since Ruth delivered the franchise's first. Gossage would not disappoint, leading the American League in saves in 1978 (27), the last of which came at Fenway Park in a single-game playoff that supplied Bucky Dent with a new middle name he hears in Boston to this day.

The Yanks would go on to beat the Kansas City Royals three games to one in the American League Championship Series before downing their perennial Fall Classic foil in a six-game defeat of the Los Angeles Dodgers. Soon afterwards, this instantly recognizable symbol of baseball's highest team achievement was delivered to the nine-time All-Star.

This is the standard foot-tall (12") format features the proper tally of twenty-six team pennants surrounding crown and baseball figurals at center, with mounted press pins of the Yankees and vanquished National League Champion Los Angeles Dodgers at the base. The brass band that encircles it is embossed with the names of that unforgettable roster, legends like Reggie Jackson, Catfish Hunter, Ron Guidry and Thurman Munson. Some handling and storage wear is apparent, most notably in the black wood of the base, an easy but unnecessary fix. Ironclad provenance is supplied by a letter of provenance from Gossage himself. Letter of provenance from Goose Gossage. Full LOA from PSA/DNA (for letter of provenance)
