1975 Topps George Brett #228 PSA Gem Mint 10. Ted Williams once said, "I hope somebody hits .400 soon. Then people can start pestering that guy with questions about the last guy to hit .400." In 1980, George Brett made a valiant effort to be that man when he hit .390. Offered is a truly spectacular card that stands atop the pinnacle of the PSA population report. Of the over 10,000 examples that have been graded Gem Mint, this is one of only ten to have achieved the coveted grading distinction. That makes this card on of the top one-tenth of one-percent submitted to PSA.Graded PSA Gem MT 10. Flawless in almost every respect, sharp corners, close to perfect centering, astounding color and gloss combine to give the hobby this amazing specimen. This is a difficult card to find in NM-MT or better condition due to the full bleed edges. Our offered card rests at the ultimate PSA plateau and virtually impossible to improve upon. If our estimate surprises you, the most recent auction sales of this card have been robust to say the least with results reaching the $40,000 level... and this was almost five years ago now.
